X² CODE

X² Code is a small engineering team building open-source developer tooling — and writing down what we learn while we do it. This site is the manual for that work: what we build, how it is put together, and what broke on the way.

It is not a portfolio. There are no case studies here and no pitch. What there is: architecture notes, postmortems, and the reasoning behind decisions we would otherwise have to explain twice. We write the page we wanted to find when we hit the problem.

The bias throughout is toward the concrete. Real commands, real file paths, real error messages, real numbers. If a piece has none of those, we do not publish it. Abstraction is cheap; the specific detail that saves someone an afternoon is not.

Everything we ship in public is open source, and everything we write about it is downstream of the same conviction — that a system you can reason about beats a system that merely works.
